Can I pre-board my luggage?
World Cruise
Pre-boarded luggage requests have now closed for the 2023 World Cruise. The following information may be used as a guide, but details will be confirmed in mid-2023.
What's offered?
- Guests may arrange a transfer of their luggage from their home to a Southampton terminal only via The Baggage Handling Company. The service means that luggage can be collected from the guest's home and transported to the port up to 96 hours before the cruise leaves, so guests don't have to worry about their luggage until they reach their cabin. Safely sealed and stored in a secure facility before departure, the service guarantees complete peace of mind over the security of luggage once in the possession of The Baggage Handling Company. On return from the holiday, the guest will be met by a representative in the terminal who will reseal the luggage and return it on the date agreed.
- Guests may arrange for their luggage to be stored on board until they arrive on the ship via The Baggage Handling Company. This may be used if the guest embarks in Brisbane for example. A maximum of 1 case of 23kg per person can be pre-boarded and a maximum of 2 cases per cabin.
- Please note that these are two different offerings which need to be arranged separately.
Cost
- The cost for the luggage to be transferred from the guest's home to a Southampton terminal will be confirmed by The Baggage Handling Company.
- The cost for luggage to be on board when the guest embarks is approximately £35* per case. *Please note, prices are subject to change without notice.
How to register for this service
- Guests can arrange for their luggage to be transferred from their home to a Southampton terminal by contacting The Baggage Handling Company on 02380 873111.
- Guests can arrange for their luggage to be on board when they embark by calling the Customer Contact Centre. Once the guest has registered, a pre-boarding luggage pack will be sent to them approximately four weeks prior to the ship setting sail from Southampton. The pack includes an indemnity form, delivery instructions, dates and dimensions and hold-labels for the cases. If the guest is leaving the ship before the end of its World Cruise, please see "Can I leave my luggage on board if I am travelling on part of a world voyage?".
