Can I pre-board my luggage?

World Cruise (J501 only)

For Arcadia's World Cruise, J501 only, we're delighted to offer a service for guests who wish to pre-board their luggage prior to joining the ship in another port. This may be used if the guest embarks in Brisbane, for example. A maximum of one case of 23kg per person can be pre-boarded and a maximum of two cases per cabin.

Please see the options below (these are two different offerings which need to be arranged separately):

 Pre-boarded luggage service

  • Guests can arrange for their luggage to be on board when they embark by calling the Customer Contact Centre to register. Once the guest has registered, a pre-boarding luggage pack will be sent to them approximately four weeks before the ship sets sail from Southampton. The pack includes an indemnity form, delivery instructions, dates and dimensions and hold labels for the cases.
  • Guests will take their luggage from their home to a Southampton cruise terminal, where it'll be safely stored for them until the appropriate time when it will be delivered to the guest's cabin.
  • The charge for this service payable to P&O Cruises is £50.00* for each piece of luggage up to a maximum of two pieces per cabin.
  • If the guest is leaving the ship before the end of its World Cruise, please see "Can I leave my luggage on board if I am travelling on part of a world voyage?".

Luggage transfer from guest's home to the ship through The Baggage Handling Company

  • In addition to the above, guests may want to arrange for their luggage to be transferred from their home to a Southampton terminal via The Baggage Handling Company.
  • The service means that luggage will be collected from the guest's home and transported to the port up to 96 hours before the cruise leaves, so the guest doesn’t need to worry about their luggage until they reach their cabin. Safely sealed and stored in a secure facility before departure, the service guarantees complete peace of mind over the security of luggage once in the possession of The Baggage Handling Company.
  • On return from the holiday, the guest will be met by a representative in the terminal who will reseal the luggage and return it on the date agreed.
  • There is an additional cost to the pre-boarding fee of £48.00 for one case or £90.00 for 2 cases, and this is booked directly with The Baggage Handling Company, for the transportation of luggage to the terminal, should the guests wish to use this service.
  • Guests must purchase our pre-boarding luggage service directly through the Customer Contact Centre.
