What entertainment and activities are available on board?

P&O Cruises offers the very best in cruise entertainment. Days can be filled with as much or as little as our guests want, whilst evenings are no doubt the social highlight. With a range of activities and entertainment taking place throughout the day, guests will struggle to fit everything in. Of course, guests may just prefer to relax on deck with a cocktail and a book; they can do as much or as little as they like. Here's a selection of activities:

  • Dazzling spectacular performances in the ship's theatres - please see "Is there a theatre on board?".
  • Comedy performances.
  • Live music, piano recitals and tribute bands.
  • Cinema and film screenings - please see "What films are shown on board?".
  • Dance classes.
  • Pub quizzes.
  • Wavelength Gameshow – Virtually Starring TV Presenter Ben Shephard.
  • Sports tournaments.
  • Cookery demonstrations.
  • Special interest seminars.
  • Guest Choir
  • Guest Talent Show
  • Pools and spa.
  • Gym and fitness classes.
  • Traditional card and table games
  • Casino, featuring slot machine.
  • Bars and nightclubs.
  • Bridge - If there are 6 or more sea days then we will provide a Bridge instructor to run lessons and hosted games*.  On shorter cruises, guests are welcome to play amongst themselves. Please note there is no Bridge offering at all on Iona and Arvia.
  • Art classes - cruises that have 6 or more seas days (only available on Arcadia, Azura and Ventura)
  • All ships have Creative Waves – a fun and modern arts and craft programme led by specialist instructions giving traditional activities a fun, modern twist.

Guests should refer to their Daily Horizon programme on board for details. On port days, should guests wish to stay on board, they can still take advantage of a range of activities.

Good to know:

  • Cabaret acts are not finalised until very close to sailing. There is normally a comedian, a vocalist and a speciality act (either a musician or magician) on most cruises. Cabaret acts are only usually on-board for approximately five nights.
  • There are various tribute acts on all our ships.
  • Please be aware, the reservation will only show in the "My Orders" section for the guest who made the order, even if a guest made a reservation for multiple guests on the booking.

Arvia exclusive

On Arvia, there will be a submarine style live action interactive experience, Submarine Immersive Experience Game (£20 for adults, £10 for children). This experience is not suitable for wheelchair users as it does require stepping through entry hatches and moving around the submarine.

A high ropes course, Altitude SkyWalk (£7.50 for adults and £2.50 for children) , 54m above the ocean. Please note the minimum height for the high ropes course is 1.4 meters. There is no minimum age but under 18s need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver on their behalf. Under 16s must have a parent or guardian remain in the area to supervise and under 14s must have a parent or guardian on  the course with them. Max 2 children per adult.

Arvia and Iona are the only places at sea where guests can watch "Greatest Days by Tim Firth". The Official Take That Musical, an adaptation of the acclaimed West End musical The Band, features the songs of Take That and a beautiful story by Olivier Award-winning writer Tim Firth. Greatest Days is named in celebration of the upcoming film adaptation of The Band and will be brought to life by an amazing cast, handpicked from our Headliners Theatre performers.
