Do you offer military benefits?

Who's eligible?

P&O Cruises offers military benefits to UK citizens only. The offer is available to those that are currently serving in the HM Armed Forces and those that have previously served within the HM Armed Forces. We are pleased to offer on board spending money to:

  • Current serving personnel
  • Veterans
  • Reservists
  • MOD Civil servants
  • NATO personnel in the UK

For the following service divisions:

  • British Army
  • Royal Navy
  • Royal Air Force
  • Reserves
  • Royal Marines
  • Merchant Navy
  • Home Guard

How to receive military benefit

  • Military benefits must be applied to a guest's booking through the Customer Contact Centre for Direct bookings or via the guest's travel agent for travel agent bookings. If the guest has booked through a travel agent, the agent must apply this to the booking.
  • Military benefits can only be applied to a booking if the guest is registered with Defence Discount Service (the official MOD discount scheme) and has a Defence Privilege Card. This is a paid for membership.
  • Guests will need to quote their Defence Privilege Card membership number at the time of booking or no later than seven days before departure, along with the promotion code "MLT" for the on board credit to be applied to their booking. It's not possible to apply the military benefit once the guest is on board.
  • Guests may be asked to present their card at the check-in desk on the day of embarkation, so they should take this with them when travelling.

What's the benefit?

The amount of on board spending money is applicable for the first and second guests in a cabin only and depends on the grade of cabin booked and the duration of the cruise:

Nights Sea View / Inside Balcony Suite

£10 £15 £20
7-13 £20 £30 £40
14-21 £50 £65 £75
22+ £75 £90 £100

Military benefits are not combinable with certain promotional fares including: Early Saver and Saver fare, On-board booking, Thank You For Cruising promotions, Ship Visit, Tesco voucher bookings and partnership benefits. If you have any queries on combinability, please call our Customer Contact Centre.

Additional Information

Military benefit is combinable with travel agent bookings, however, as on board credit is a financial aspect of the booking, guests must claim this via their travel agent.
