What do I need to know when booking a Shore Experience/Excursion?

Yes, there are 3 easy ways to book shore excursions:


  • You can access the My Cunard in order to pre-book and pay for shore excursions.
  • You can call the Customer Contact Centre please visit our website for contact details or call your Travel Agent who will be able to pre-book and take payment for shore excursions. When calling, please have your booking reference to hand, along with the shore excursions you would like to purchase (and details of the credit/debit card being used).
  • Book once on-board


When can I book?

Shore Excursions are typically available to reserve on-line via the My Cunard approximately 6 months prior to travel. Pre booking shore excursions will require payment at time of booking. (There is no credit card fee applied when pre purchasing shore excursions). All excursions must be booked at the least 5 days prior to departure.


Booking on Board

If you would prefer not to pre pay for your Shore Excursions you may book on board with the Shore Excursions Team. Subject to availability. By booking a shore excursion on board, the cost will be charged to your on board account. For further information on this, please see:

How to Book via My Cunard:

To book shore excursions via My Cunard:

  • Once logged in, click on the 'Going Ashore ‘tab at the top of the page, then proceed by selecting the 'View and Book Shore Excursions' option from the drop down list.  
  • You will then be presented with a page of shore excursions; you can select specific ports of call or sort the results by price such as highest to lowest.
  • Once you have located a shore excursion of interest, you will be required to select the 'View & Book' button located on the right hand side. 
  • If you wish to proceed with booking an excursion, you will be asked to select the number of tickets you wish to purchase by clicking next to the guests name that will be travelling. 
  • Once all the relevant guests have been selected press 'Continue.'  
  • You will then be asked which departure time you would prefer if there is more than one option. Once you have made your selection please select 'Continue.' 
  • The total price for the shore excursions and your loyalty discount (if applicable) will then appear. Please check these detail are correct and click 'Add to Shopping Basket'.

  • Shore excursions will remain in your shopping basket for two hours to allow time for you to process your payment. After this time period the shore excursion you have held will be removed. If you book a waitlisted shore excursion, you will be advised via email when it is available to book. You will then be given 72 hours to fully book and pay for the excursion
  • If you book two shore excursions on the same day, we would recommend you leave at least one hour between your excursions returning to the ship in the morning and leaving in the afternoon.  This would be at your own risk and refunds would not be made if your morning shore excursion is delayed by traffic and you miss the afternoon departure
  • If you have any queries regarding your loyalty discount or the total price of the shore excursions being purchased; please contact the Customer Contact Centre please visit our website for contact details.
  • If you choose a shore experience with a long transfer time to the main destination (ie Civitavecchia to Rome) it is likely that a convenience stop will be made. We cannot guarantee that there will be toilet facilities on the coaches used for our excursions as we do not know until the day of the tours which coaches will be supplied to us by the local coach operators. If you choose an excursion that includes refreshments or lunch, there will toilet facilities available at the refreshment/lunch venue. 


Accessible Shore Excursions: 

If you wish to book an accessible shore excursion, which are suitable for passengers using a wheelchair/scooter, this will be charged to your on board account as it is not possible to book these on line. Please see the following questions for more information:
