Can I take a scooter in an accessible vehicle?

Please be advised due to health and safety reasons, mobility scooters cannot be used on our accessible shore excursions as these cannot be safely secured inside the vehicles and have a lack of storage space. 

We are able to offer the following options for you to enjoy your time ashore.

  • If you are a part time scooter user and can negotiate steps onto a standard coach you will be able to book our low level activity tours via your Cruise Personaliser or My P&O Cruises. We will then store your scooter underneath the coach in the luggage compartment.
  • If you are a full time scooter user or would like an alternative option, we can arrange organised private arrangements, please see below information on how to request these. For private arrangements we liaise with our Port Agents and where possible we will source suitable vehicles for storage of a Mobility Scooter.


If you wish to make enquiries regarding private arrangements, please complete the following information and return to
shoremobilityinfo@carnivalukgroup.com no later than two weeks prior to sailing date:

1 Passenger name, cruise number, cabin number, booking reference and contact email address
2 Number of wheelchair users and companions in the party
3 Port of call and date of call of where the passenger wishes to arrange the itinerary for
4 Type of vehicle required (adapted vehicle or standard car)
5 Does the passenger want a Guide and a driver or just an English speaking driver (upon request,   subject to availability)
6 The name of the shore excursion featured in our regular shore excursion programme.
7 Approximate duration
8 Approximate departure time
9 Is the combined weight of wheelchair and user less than 180kg?

  • If you feel that one of our Accessible Shore Excursion is more suitable for you, we would recommend that you take a manual wheelchair or electric wheelchair. If an electric wheelchair was to be used we would need to obtain measurement and weight details to ensure it would be suitable for the vehicles that are being used. 


Please note, Accessible Shore excursions and Private Arrangements will be charged to your onboard account as currently they are not bookable on your Cruise Personaliser or My P&O Cruises.
