Is there a cancellation charge for Shore Experience/Excursions?

Cancelling shore experiences on Cruise Personaliser or My P&O Cruises

Should you wish to cancel a shore experience you can do so via Cruise Personaliser or My P&O Cruises.  Cancellations can be made no later than 3 days to departure. A full refund will be applied to the credit/debit card used to make the original payment. There may, however, be shore experiences that are non-refundable or incur a cancellation penalty or have an earlier cancellation deadline; details of this will be contained in the tour description.

Cancelling shore experiences 3 days prior to sailing

If you wish to cancel within 3 days of departure please speak to your on board Shore Experience Representative who will be able to assist.  

On board cancellations

Once on board, if you wish to cancel your shore experiences before the cancellation deadline (generally 48 hours prior to the arrival in port) a 10% cancellation fee will be applied to your on board account and the full amount paid will be refunded to your original credit/debit card.

Cancelling due to medical reason

If the tour ticket is stamped by the Ship's Doctor then you will receive a refund.


Private shore experiences

You may cancel private arrangements at no cost up to 3 days in advance of sailing. If cancelled within 72 hrs, 10% cancellation fee will be applied to your on board account. If you do wish to cancel after the cancellation deadline, 100% cancellation fee will be posted to your on board account.
Any cancellation fees incurred will be charged to your on board account.

We regret that we are unable to refund the cost of experiences that are cancelled by guests after the cancellation deadline. If you do wish to cancel your shore experience after the cancellation deadline we will credit the original credit/debit card with the full amount paid however, a 100% cancellation fee will be posted to your on board account. In order to process any cancellations tickets must be returned to the on board Shore Experiences Office.

If the shore experience that you wish to cancel was booked on board, a credit will be applied to your on board account, minus any cancellation penalty. In most cases, the 'Essential Information' section of the shore experience description will indicate where a shore experience is not eligible for a refund.

If you are a member of the Peninsular Club and your pre-paid shore experience qualified for a discount, any applicable refunds will be credited back to the original credit card excluding the discount awarded.

If you book two shore experiences on the same day, we would recommend you leave at least one hour between your experiences, returning to the ship in the morning and leaving in the afternoon. This would be at your own risk and refunds would not be made if your morning shore experience is delayed by traffic and you miss the afternoon departure.

All shore experiences require a minimum participation, which if not achieved, may mean the tour will be cancelled. In this event an alternative may be offered. We reserve the right to cancel or amend shore experiences prior to commencement for any other reason, including upon operational or commercial grounds, in which case we will make any refunds to your credit/ debit card if booked in advance or your on board account if booked on board. Should any shore experience have to be abandoned or amended after setting off, the best possible on board credit will be arranged according to the circumstances.

Please note some Private Experiences may be subject to alternative cancellation policies and fees which will be advised at the time of booking.
