On a fly-cruise, holiday how do I get my luggage from the aircraft to the ship?

This depends on whether the guest is travelling on a chartered or scheduled flight. You may find the following question useful: How do I know if I am travelling on a chartered or scheduled flight?

Charter flights

We’re pleased to be able to offer a seamless service known as "Luggage Valet" on selected chartered flights. This is also known as bonded luggage. Guests should ensure that all their baggage has a P&O Cruises luggage label attached before they check-in at the airport, because once they check-in, the next time they'll see their bags will be in their cabin on board the ship.

Please note that this is not available for our fly Mediterranean sailings

Caribbean fly-cruises

When guests arrive in the Caribbean on a charter flight, there is no need to pass through immigration, nor collect their checked bags; coaches will be waiting to transfer them directly to the cruise terminal and all checked baggage will be unloaded from the aircraft and taken directly to the ship, where it will be screened and delivered to their cabin. Baggage transportation details for disembarkation will be communicated onboard.

This is available on the following charter flights: TUI Airways for Barbados and Antigua, Virgin Atlantic for Bridgetown and Antigua.

Scheduled flights

If guests are travelling on a scheduled flight, when they arrive at their destination they will need to pass through immigration, collect their luggage from Baggage Reclaim then proceed through to Arrivals. If they booked their flight through P&O Cruises and are arriving on the day of sailing, or have booked a hotel stay through us, there will be a P&O Cruises representative to meet them who will give them instructions for joining their coach transfer to the cruise terminal.

Guest arranged their own flights

If guests have arranged their own flights or have arranged to fly out to their destination early, then they will need to make their own way to the cruise terminal.

The baggage arrangements for the inbound flight will be confirmed during the cruise. Baggage is usually collected from outside guests' cabins the night before they disembark.
